Specky & Mils - Darjeeling Fling

Having read about this it seemed sensible to pause momentarily to fully comprehend the danger and risk that it could bring. On the other hand it seemed ridiculous to even contemplate not getting involved. It's likely to be challenging, but no one said that having this much fun would be easy.

Having heard about a ludicrous race across the Indian sub-continent in motorised rickshaws, or tuk-tuks, it seemed churlish not to find out more and to try and enter. How hard can it really be to travel some 4500 kilometres from Kathmandu in Nepal to Pondicherry in the very south of India? Surely the minor inconvenience of mountains, jungle and also the monsoon will pose no problem for the mighty rickshaw with its top speed of 55kmph. With three wheels and half a horse power it is undoubtedly the most suitable ultimate long distance, off road machine!

So with that in mind, Team Darjeeling Fling, (aka Adam and Mils), will be duly setting off to race against 69 other pimped up chariots.

We have made it safely to ' the cherry'. Lucky, named after the three legged, one eyed dog, did us proud and we made it back without a scratch. After 130 hours driving its great to be static and to be in the french quarter away from the noise of tata truck horns. Bring on the leaving party. . . . .
